Degree of relationship to ancient play:
The libretto for this 'componimento per musica' was provided by L. M. Stampiglia, after Silvio Stampiglia's Imeneo. It is possible that it incorporated some elements from Euripides and/or Seneca. (The source has not been examined.) Another production of the opera took place at Brno in 1733 (Sartori ID 11824).
