Production notes:
This play has the alternative titles of Achilles and Achilles after Aristarchus. We do not know when this play was first performed. Ennius came to Rome in 204 BC (see Cornelius Nepos). The Achilles is quoted by Plautus in the prologue of his Poenulus, so it must have been produced before the composition of that work in 189 BC. It is therefore assumed in the date range offered here, that the play was performed at some time during the period between Ennius' arrival to Rome and the composition of Plautus' Poenulus. It is also assumed that the performance took place in Rome.
