Demosthenes, in his speech 'On the Crown', alludes to the possible performance of this play or rather the possibility of Aescshines acting the part of Creon. There is little to tie an actual performance of the play to this date, though the speech at least demonstrates that it was possible in 330 BC to imagine such a performance taking place in Attica.
