Notes:
Latin edition of the Andria, Eunuchus and Heautontimorumenos with word for word French 'interpretation' and notes. Pierre Davantès (aka Petrus Antesignanis) was the author of the notes and, in all likelihood, of the translation. He included in his preface a paragraph on translation, entitled 'Interpretationes Gallicae cum annotationibus', which shows knowledge of Estienne Dolet's 1540 treaty on translation, 'Manière de bien traduire d'une langue en l'autre'. Sources: BNF catalogue général, Lawton, Harold W. Térence en France au seizième siècle, éditions et traductions. 1926, p.500-510, 554.
