Production notes:
The libretto for this drama per musica was probably based on Euripides' Helen. It was begun by Faustini and completed by Minato after Faustini's death. Minato's dedication in the libretto is dated 26 December 1659; performances presumably took place on or around this date. A supplement to the libretto published during the run of this production (Sartori ID 16839a) supplies the words to the new prologue and some new aria texts. Dramatis personae: Tindaro, Elena, Menelao, Teseo, Peritoo, Ippolita, Eurite, Erginda, Diomede, Euripilo, Iro, Creonte, Menesteo, Antiloco, Castore, Polluce, coro.
