Distant relative
Production notes:
This dramma musicale was performed alongside the production of the opera titled Il Toraldo, which was performed by the pupils of the Collegio Tolomei in Siena during the carnival season of 1703 (between Christmas and Lent). It seems that La Clitennestra was some kind of entertaniment during the interval of Toraldo. Pages 7-27 of the libretto for Il Toraldo contain the script for La Clitennestra; it is likely that it is based on one of the three surviving Greek tragedies based on the story of Cytemnestra's death. Dramatis personae are Clitennestra, Oreste, Pilade. The libretto listing reads La Clitennestra. Dramma musicale intrecciato all'opera del Toraldo.
