This production was based on an adaptation of Gaetano Roccaforte's libretto which had been first set by Galuppi for Rome in 1751 (Sartori ID 2070). The foreword in the libretto for this production acknowledges that Roccaforte's libretto had been substiantially rewritten and adapted and that some details of the story had been changed. The intervals of this production featured two ballets: the first one, by Le Picq, was titled 'Orfeo et Euridice', the second one, by Rossi, was titled 'Il riposo dell'accampamento ungherese'.
