Libretto:: Ranieri de' Calzabigi, 'Alceste. Tragedia per musica messa in musica dal. Sig. Cavalier Cristoforo Gluck. Dedicata a sua altezza reale I'arciduca Pietro Leopoldo gran duca di Toscana. Da eseguirsi in Padova nel mese di giugno 1777 (Vincenza: Francesco Modena, 1777). This was the first production of the Italian version of Gluck's Alceste (see APGRD ID 5912) in an Italian city. The libretto was dedicated by Calzabigi to the Austrian Empress Maria Theresia. The score of the opera envisaged ballets.
