Associated-Rediffusion was the British Independent Television (commercial television) contractor for London, on weekdays between 1954 and 1968. Rondiris' production of Sophokles' Elektra premièred in Thessaloniki in 1959, and then toured around Greece and several European cities to 1960 (ID 299). It continued to tour interntationally with significant changes of cast from 1961 to 1963 (ID 1521). In 1963 it was presented in Delphi with a largely new cast to celebrate 45 years of Rondiris' contribution to theatre (ID 2737); this revival was taken on a substantial international tour to 1965. The 1966 revival in Cyprus and Edinburgh featured a new cast which included Elsa Vergi as Elektra (ID 8613).
