The modern Greek translation follows that of the German text of Hermann Kochly. The production was staged as part of the wedding celebration for the king-to-be Konstantinos and Sophia. Sideris (1976, pp.87-90) cites Bernhard Saxe von Meiningen as the composer, but Sideris (1990, p.216) cites Sailer - I. Kaisari as responsible for the music.
