The production of this dramma per musica took place in the autumn season of 1799. The New Grove Opera names G. Moretti as the librettist: this probably Ferdinando Moretti, whose libretto Ifigenia in Aulide was used first by Zingarelli (Milan 1787: see Production ID 8359) and later by Cherubini (Turin 1788: see Production ID 10823).
