This was a sung interval entertainment ('intermedio') during peformances of Filipo Caetano's comedia L'Ortensio (which could have been either sung or spoken). Deificatione d'Alcide was the fourth interval entertainment of the evening. The production was given by the Rimini nobility to the cardinal Caetano, legate in Romagna. The listing from the libretto: 'Primo Balletto: Pallade trionfante de'giganti Titani. Secondo Intermedio apparente della Fama. Terzo balletto: Rimino sotto sembiante d'un cavalliero. Quarto intermedio apparente della Deificatione d'Alcide'.
