This dramma per musica was a new production of Bertoni's opera Antigona, originally written for Genoa in 1756 (Production ID 10656). This production was based on an adaptation of Gaetano Roccaforte's libretto which had been first set by Galuppi for Rome in 1751 (Sartori ID 2070). The opera was performed during the carnival season of 1776 (between Christmas and Lent).
