Libretto: Alceste. This is the first of the two ballets which were performed as interval entertainments during opera performances at Teatro a Torre Argentina in the carnival period 1785 (between Christmas and Lent). It is likely that it was based on Euripides. The second interval ballet for the same season was titled Il geloso per equivoco. The performances of these two ballets are recorded for the opera Ezio by Antonio Pio (Sartori ID 9556).
