Production notes: 
This was the première of the complete version of Guarnieri's Medea; earlier versions and extracts had been performed from 1991 onwards. It is a multimedia work incorporating video film and live electronics as well as soloists, chorus, and orchestra; the part of Medea was shared by three singers, and there was no continuous narrative but rather a portrayal of Medea's anguish in a variety of ways.
