APGRD Notes
A monologue where the character of Patroclus, a soldier deeply in love, appears in a more intimate facet. The play images a love relationship between the protagonist and Achilles, for whom Patroclus is anxiously waiting in a sort of limbo, a mix between Christian hell and ancient Greek underworld. The play draws not only on the Homeric text, but also fragments by Sappho, Federico García Lorca, Pedro Lemebe, Anne Carson and Madeline Miller.
