Conferences
The APGRD has been holding international conferences since 1998, when ‘Medea in Performance, 1500-present’ was held 10-11 July at Somerville College, Oxford. ‘Agamemnon in Performance, 458BC- AD2001’ followed on 20-22 September 2001 at Wadham College, Oxford.
Since then we have held several major conferences including ‘Aristophanes Upstairs and Downstairs: Peace, Birds, and Frogs in Ancient and Modern Performance’ (Magdalen College, Oxford, 16-18 September 2004); ‘New Perspectives on Ancient Pantomime’ (Classics Centre, Oxford, 13 July 2005); ‘Greek Drama and Modern Dance’ (Magdalen College, Oxford, 12 July 2006); ‘Pronomos: His Vase and its World’ (Magdalen College, Oxford, 26-27 September 2006); ‘Ancient Drama in Modern Opera, 1600-1800’ (Classics Centre, Oxford, 12 July 2007); ‘Theorising Performance Reception ‘ (Classics Centre, Oxford, 14-15 September 2007); and ‘Choruses: Ancient and Modern’ (Classics Centre and St Hilda’s College, Oxford, 13-14 September 2010).
