Performing Archives in the Digital Present - value and impact

Thursday, September 28, 2023 - 2:00pm to 4:00pm
Outreach Room, Ioannou Centre, 66 St Giles, Oxford - and online

Hybrid pop-up workshop

Hosted by the University of Oxford’s APGRD and the University of Cape Town’s ReTAGS research project, this free workshop will focus on ideas around ‘Anecdotal and Qualitative vs. Analytics and Quantitative’, and how these relate specifically to the digital performance archive. This includes understanding the “value” of our archival materials and their digital representations, and the potential for users/digital audiences to transform them through various interventions. The aim is to create an informal, friendly, and conversational workshop - encouraging relaxed dialogue between all attendees.

The workshop will run from 2pm to approx 4pm (BST). Please register your interest by Monday 25 September.

The Ioannou Centre’s Outreach Room is located on the ground floor and the Centre is fully wheelchair accessible; accessible toilets are located on the ground floor and on the first floor. Please see the online Access Guide for more details about the building's accessibility. Feel free to email with any queries.

This pop-up workshop on archiving performance is the second to be co-hosted by the APGRD and ReTAGS archivists - see the past event page for more information on Performing Archives in the Digital Present I (2022) - and is part of the ongoing collaboration between the two research projects.
