Production notes:
We do not know when this play was first produced. The date range given here is based on Sophocles' first competition (Mar. Par) and his last (Life of Euripides 2). It is assumed here that the play would have been performed in Athens. Many scholars believe that this play is identical to the Epigonoi. It is also a possibility that this play was produced as part of a trilogy with Epigonoi, Alcmaeon, and with Amphiaraus as the satyr-drama.
