Production notes:
It is not known when this play was produced. The date range for performance given here is between the year of his first competition (acc. to Suda) and his death (Marm. Par.). It is assumed here that this play would have been produced in Athens. It is possible that this play formed part of a trilogy with Prometheus Bound and Prometheus Unbound. Others argue that this play and Prometheus Pyrkaeus (the Fire-Kindler) are not different plays. If this is the case then this would be a satyr drama with the production date 472 BC.
