It is not known when this play was produced. The date range for performance given here is between the year of his first competition (acc. to Suda) and his death (Marm. Par.). It is assumed here that this play would have been produced in Athens; there is a strong argument for this, since Aristophanes assumes the audience's knowledge of the performance in Frogs 911-920.
