Production notes:
It is not known when this play was produced. The date range for performance is between the year of his first competition (acc. to Suda) and his death (Marm. Par.). It is assumed that this play would have been produced in Athens. The Argo may have been part of a tetralogy with Lemnian women, Hypsipyle and Cabeiri. This play has the alternative title 'Oarsmen' and may have been a satyr drama, see Sommerstien (Aeschylus Fragments, Loeb), p. 14-5.
