Alexander is recorded as the victor in the competition for comedy at this festival. The same festival had competitions in satyr play (won by the playwright Aminias) and tragedy (won by the playwright Sophocles); old Tragedy and old Comedy (won by Hippocrates and Callistratus respectively). Alexandrus is also recorded in the same inscription as the victor in a second festival, the Homoloia. Attalus acted, for this comic actor see Stephanis, no. 473.
