The entry in the Suda, 10th-century AD Lexicon, says that this Euripides, older than the famous Euripides, produced 12 dramas and won twice. The date range given here is an estimation. It is perhaps this Euripides who is referred to in the inscription (Seg 23, 102) from c. 440 BC (see TrGF1, 16 Euripides I, T2, p. 94).
