                      The date of performance is based on the evidence of Aelian Var. Hist. 2.8 which says that in this year Euripides competed against Xenocles with Alexander, Palamedes, Trojan Women and satyric Sisyphus and came second to him. It is assumed that this performance took place in Athens.
