      APGRD Notes
Horace seems to refer to a recent revival of a play by the author of Comoedia Togata, Atta, who was active in the first quarter of the first century BC. The commentator, Pomponius Porphyrio, writing in the 3rd century AD, identified this play as the Materterae. No fragments of the play survive. See Comoedia Togata: Fragments, ed. A. Daviault (Paris: Les Belles Lettres, 1981), p. 259.
