APGRD Notes
Cicero mentions a performance of a play of this name probably at the Ludi Apollinares of 57BC, a scholiast identifies the author as Afranius, who was active in the second half of the second century. This performance would therefore have been a revival of an old play. See E. Csapo and W.J. Slater, The Context of Ancient Drama (Ann Arbor: University of Michigan Press, 1994), IV 207; A. Daviault (ed.), Comoedia Togata: Fragments (Paris: Les Belles Lettres, 1981), pp. 52 and 221; R.
