      APGRD Notes
We know from Cicero (Ad Fam. 7.1.2) that at the opening of the theatre of Pompey there was a performance of the Trojan Horse that used 3, 000 wine bowls. If this was Naevius' Trojan Horse, then we can date a performance of the play to 55 BC.
