This ballet was one of those which accompanied the production of Martín y Soler's opera Ifigenia in Aulide (Production ID 10814). It it possible that it was meant to accompany the action in the opera in Act III, or that it was added as a commentary by means of an afterpiece. The other two ballets for this production were Griselda and Il servo di due padroni and were not linked to the action in the opera.
