Production notes:
Libretto: Prologo et intermedio. Da recitarsi in musica nell'opera dell'Antigona nel Teatro Grimani in San Samuele nell'anno 1722 (Venice: Giovanni Antonio Gislon, 1722). It is likely that the libretto for this production drew on Sophokles, but it seems to be lost (only the prologue and the scenario for interval entertainment - 'intermedio' - seem to survive). The libretto might have been an adaptation either of Lucchini's libretto Antigona written for Venice in 1717 (Sartori ID 2058), or on Pasqualigo's libretto written for Venice in 1718 and first set by Orlandini (see Sartori ID 2059). It could possibly have been another production of Orlandini's setting.
