Libretto: Mattia Butturini, 'L'apoteosi d'Ercole. Dramma per musica da rappresentarsi nel nobilissimo Teatro Venier in San Benedetto il carnovale dell'anno 1791 (Venice: Modesto Fenzo, 1790). It is likely that this work drew either on Sophocles and/or on Seneca. The interval entertainment during this opera included the ballet Tito o La Partenza di Berenice. It was described in the libretto to the opera as "Ballo eroico pantomimo di Gasparo Angiolini, con musica dello stesso".
