APGRD Notes
Staged as a play within a play, with the inset action set in the present and the outer frame inhabited by historical spectators from across time. Staging also emphasized the chorus, which stood in tiers surrounding the stage. This production also featured the first man in the Met's history to play Orfeo, the countertenor David Daniels. Producer Mark Morris cast his own dance company for the ballet.
