APGRD Notes
This was the first of the two ballets which were used as interval entertainments during the production of Angelo Valentini's opera La clemenza di Tito. It is likely that it drew on Sophocles or Seneca. The second ballet was titled Ballo di un gentiluomo castigliano fatto schiavo dal sultano.
