It is assumed that this tragedy was written by an imitator after the death of Seneca; see J. Fitch, Seneca Tragedies Vol. II (Loeb, 2004), p. 332-3. It is not known when, or in what medium, it might have been performed. Here it is assumed that some kind of performance of it took place at Rome. The date range is for a fifty year period after the death of Seneca.
