Join us for this hybrid event with online speakers Ben Folit-Weinberg and Harriet Fertik (Ohio State University) to discuss The 'Metaphors of Reception, Reception as a Metaphor Project': An Overview.

The ‘Metaphors of Reception, Reception as a Metaphor’ project explores the role that metaphors play in the construction of the discourse of reception, with a special focus on the epistemological and ontological implications entailed by specific metaphors. We consider metaphors of reception within key cultural and historical contexts for the study of Greco-Roman antiquity. We also undertake a history of the term ‘reception’ within the field of reception studies, and examine the relationship between different approaches within this field.
