It is not known when this play was produced. The date range for performance given here is between the year of his first competition (acc. to Suda) and his death (Marm. Par.). It is assumed here that this play would have been produced in Athens. It was perhaps part of the same trilogy as Hypsipyle. No fragments of this play survive; on its possible content see TrGF3, F146-9, p. 261 and Sommerstein, Aeschylus Fragments (Loeb, 2008), p. 154-5.
