Production notes:
We do not know when any of Moschion's plays were produced and even establishing the dates of his career is problematic. His name survives inscribed on a statue which was put up in 300 BC. If this is taken to commemorate his death, then he would have been producing tragedies in the second half of the 4th century. The date range for performance offered here is based on this assumption. Others date him to the 3rd century BC. It is not known where his plays were performed, although Athens seems at least a possibilty, given that Moschion himself was Athenian (TrGF1, 97 Moschion T1, p.263) and wrote a Themistocles.
