We do not know the exact dates of Cleophon's career or when any of his plays were performed. We have the list of play titles (but no fragments), from the entry in the Suda. Cleophon, however, is mentioned in Aristotle's Poetics (2 = 1448a 11) and therefore must have been established as a playwright before the composition of that work. The date range for performance given here is therefore based on Aristotle's adult life (from the age of 20). The performance venue is uncertain, but it is assumed here that these plays were produced in Athens.
