Production notes:
Morsimus is referred to as an established tragedian by 424 BC, see Aristophanes' Knights 400. This Medea, if it belongs to Morsimus and if it was indeed called Medea, is parodied in Aristophanes' Peace 1012-4, and must therefore have been performed before the production of that comedy (421 BC). The date range given here is based on these considerations.
